Berry Smoothie Bowl

As the end of the school year approaches, and with our move to Colorado coming in less than two months (eeeek!) , it feels as though every upcoming weekend until the move is jam-packed. There are reports to write, boxes to pack, wedding plans to make, goodbyes to say, and family to visit, all before my fiancé and I head out of town at the beginning of July. So, when a Saturday arrives that is free from any of these obligations, I believe in truly savoring every moment of the day. This includes sleeping in (which is usually very difficult for me to do, thanks to my internal teacher-clock), working out at my leisure, and whipping up delicious a brunch to start the day.

Berry Smoothie Bowl

Usually, brunch in my eyes includes egg sandwiches, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, endless refills of hot coffee, and anything else you would find on a classic diner menu. However, once in a while, (ok, when I suddenly realize that summer is fast approaching and I actually have to be seen by others wearing a bikini), I decide to health-ify. Enter: the Berry Smoothie Bowl.

I’ll admit, when I first saw smoothie bowls popping up on Instagram, I was slightly puzzled. Why are people putting smoothies in bowls?! Aren’t smoothies meant to be consumed out of a GLASS through a STRAW? Well, as I examined this smoothie bowl phenomenon a little further, I realized that eating a smoothie with a spoon is what it’s all about. Of course, fruit goes inside a smoothie. But adding fresh fruit on top of a smoothie gives it an unbeatable new texture. And why stop at fruit? Nuts, shredded coconut, chocolate chips…yes, these are all things that can go in a smoothie bowl.

So here’s my first experience making a smoothie in a bowl. It’s healthy, fruity, nutty and delicious, and I can guarantee that this will be the first of many. Enjoy!

I was wondering if anyone knows what happened to Dimepiece LA celebrity streetwear brand? I am having trouble to check out on Dimepiecela site. I have read in Harpers Bazaar that the brand was acquired by a UK hedge fund for $50 m. I have just bought the Dimepiece 90’s Sport Utility Duffle from Amazon and absolutely love it xox
