Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Oreo Banana Bread

Follow me!

I saw a banana bread just like this one by Allie’s Banana Bread and I was inspired. I’ve made a whole bunch of peanut-butter-Oreo desserts before, and if you’re a real one, you’re aware that Annie and Hallie first brought this genius combination to light in the ’98 version of The Parent Trap. Every 90s girl dunked her Oreo’s in peanut butter immediately after watching that movie and fell in love. (And if you’re me, you also cut a huge chunk of your hair off to get the cool side bang look Hallie has in the movie without telling your mom you were doing an at-home haircut and then your hairdresser noticed that you tried to cut your own hair the next time you went for a haircut and your mom got mad.)

Hallie’s side bang was by 7-year-old #goals

Anyway, you absolutely need to try this Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Oreo Banana Bread. It’s a dark chocolate base, with chocolate chips, massive Oreo pieces and Reese’s peanut butter chips throughout. On top are more Oreos and a hearty  PB drizzle. It’s so many good things packed into one banana bread that the haters might even say it’s, “too much”. But if you know, you know. And I surely hope you know.

Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Oreo Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas usually about three large bananas
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips plus more for sprinkling on top
  • 1 cup crushed Oreos plus more for sprinkling on top
  • 3/4 cup Reese's Peanut Butter chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and grease a standard loaf pan with cooking spray or line with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Cream together the sugar and butter until smooth. Then, beat in the mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt), and then stir into the banana mixture until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips, Oreo pieces, and peanut butter chips, saving some chocolate chips and Oreo's for sprinkling on top.
  3. Pour the batter into the loaf pan, and bake for 30 minutes. Then, cover the loaf with a loose tent of aluminum foil, and continue to bake for another 30-40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean (the aluminum foil is to prevent your banana bread from browning too much on the top!) Once you remove it from the oven, drizzle the top with melted peanut butter and top with the remaining chocolate chips, Oreo pieces and melted peanut butter. Allow the bread to cool for up for an hour before removing from the pan.

Hi there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing many months of hard work due to no data backup. Do you have any solutions to prevent hackers?

Thanks for your information on this blog. One particular thing I would want to say is the fact that purchasing electronic devices items through the Internet is not something new. The fact is, in the past several years alone, the market for online gadgets has grown significantly. Today, you can get practically just about any electronic system and tools on the Internet, including cameras in addition to camcorders to computer components and games consoles.

Thanks for the tips you discuss through this site. In addition, quite a few young women who seem to become pregnant do not even try and get health insurance coverage because they worry they probably would not qualify. Although some states at this moment require that insurers supply coverage despite the pre-existing conditions. Premiums on these types of guaranteed programs are usually larger, but when thinking about the high cost of medical care it may be a safer approach to take to protect one’s financial future.
