Chocolate Chip Brownies

Follow me!

It’s another one of those all-too-frequent times lately, where, rather than writing about chocolate chips and brownies and butter on here, I’ve instead found myself writing about some outrageous, tragic, and horrifying thing that’s happened in our country in the last few days. It’s not surprising anymore, in the year 2020 2021, but I didn’t think that I’d ever be writing a blog post about the coup of our country’s capital in just my eighth month as a self-proclaimed full-time blogger. But here I am.

Let me just say this- if you are one of the 74+ million people in this country who voted for the person directly responsible for this mess just a few weeks ago, and you did not think that something like this would happen, I beg you to snap out of your cognitive dissonance and wake the fuck up. Your enabling of a psychopathic, egotistical, narcissistic, megalomaniac to be in power is what brought us to this point. Your vote put him in power. Your vote has kept him there. And, if you are one of those 74+ million people who hoped for something like this, for a noose to be put up outside the capitol and for Camp Auschwitz and 6MWNE to be marching through the halls of the building where our United States Congress meets, thank god you are no longer in power.

Unfortunately, the systems of white supremacy that this, “land of the free,” was built on won’t disappear on January 20. If you’re not one of the aforementioned 74+ million (and honestly, if you’re reading this blog, I hope you are not), we have a lot of work to do.

Sigh. Have some chocolate chip brownies.

Chocolate Chip Brownies

Servings 16 brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips plus more for on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and grease an 8" x 8" baking pan. Set aside.
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or in a small saucepan on the stove. In a large bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and 1 tsp vanilla. Beat in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Fold in the chocolate chips. Spread the batter in the prepared pan.

  3. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool for about 30 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!

One thing is the fact that one of the most popular incentives for applying your credit cards is a cash-back and also rebate supply. Generally, you’ll get 1-5 back upon various buying. Depending on the card, you may get 1 back again on most expenditures, and 5 back again on expenses made from convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores as well as ‘member merchants’.
