Double Chocolate Chunk Peanut Butter Cookies

It’s been kind of a while since I’ve made a chocolate peanut butter recipe, and that always makes me a little uncomfortable. I usually like things to be predictable and structured. I don’t like to stray too far from what I know. And what I know, when it comes to desserts, is that nothing tickles me fancy more than something of the chocolate-peanut butter variety. It’s my favorite flavor combination in the whole world. The sweet and the salty together is just so perfect. How can I really describe in words to you, the sensation that I feel every single time I bite into a peanut butter cup? The chocolate breaks upon that first bite… it’s sweet and smooth, and then lets loose a flood of creamy peanut butter filling. I close my eyes. I taste. I cry. I take another bite and savor the chocolaty-peanut butter sensations causing my tastebuds to suddenly party. Everything is well.

Filled with Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips and dark chocolate chunks, these cookies will delight any chocolate peanut butter lover. It’s the world’s best flavor combination, in a chewy, fudgy, double chocolate cookie. I’m getting all tingly just thinking about eating the single cookie left from the batch I made the other day.

Double Chocolate Chunk Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup dark chocolate chunks I used Dove chocolate
  • 1 cup Reese's Peanut Butter Chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together sugars, butter, and vanilla. Add the eggs, one at a time. Then gradually stir in the flour/cocoa mixture. Fold in the chocolate chunks and Reese's Peanut Butter Chips. If you want, save a few chips and chunks for sprinkling on the tops of the cookies.
  3. Use a tablespoon to scoop the dough and place 2 inches apart on a baking sheet. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes and top with the remaining chocolate and Reese's Peanut Butter Chips. Let cookies cool for about 10 minutes on the baking sheet. Enjoy!

Thanks for another wonderful article. Where else could anyone get that kind of information in such an ideal way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m on the look for such info.
