Chocolate-Covered Mini M&m Rice Krispie Treats

I recently noticed that I was running low on my 25 lb bag of all-purpose that I buy at Costco every couple of months. This was alarming for two reasons: 1) Flour is a rare commodity to find in stores these days, and 2) That means that I have used almost 25 lbs of flour in the last two months. Do you even know how many batches of cookies that is????????? I’m shaking in horror as I do the mental math.

Anyway, if you too are having a hard time finding baking necessities, such as flour and sugar and eggs, but you’re craving something sweet, fear not. Chocolate-Covered Mini M&m Rice Krispie Treats are here, perfectly acceptable as both a dessert and a breakfast item, and made with only a few ingredients, all of which can be pretty easily found on the empty grocery shelves of today’s Coronaworld. I featured these in a, “Baking with Mrs. Mack” segment for my elementary school’s news show this week, so take a little peaksie if you want to see me say, “um” for every other word, as I explain to 7-year-olds how to make these wonderful treats.

Rice Krispie Treats are a childhood classic, and the addition of a layer of chocolate and mini M&m’s makes them, IMO, a million times better. Trust Mrs. Mack on this one.

Chocolate-Covered Mini M&m's Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 bag marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Mini M&m's

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large sauce pan on medium heat. Once melted, stir in the entire bag of marshmallows, mixing occasionally until the marshmallows are melted and the mixture is complete smooth. Then, remove the saucepan from the heat, and mix in the 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal until completed coated in marshmallow.
  2. Transfer the cereal-marshmallow mixture into a 13"x9" pan, and pat until smooth, and let the treats cool for about an hour, before cutting into rectangles. Prepare a pan with parchment paper to put the finished treats on, and set aside.
  3. Place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for one minute. Stir the chocolate chips, and place back in the microwave for 10 seconds intervals until the chocolate is smooth and melty. Dip each Rice Krispie Treat halfway into the melted chocolate mixture, and sprinkle some Mini M&M's on top. Place each treat on the parchment paper. Let them cool until the chocolate is completely cooled, about 30 minutes.

Does anyone know what happened to Dimepiece LA celebrity streetwear brand? I cannot proceed to the checkout on Dimepiecela site. I have read in Vogue that they were bought out by a UK-based hedge fund in excess of $50m. I have just bought the Dimepiece Ball is Life Pom Pom Knit Cap from Ebay and totally love it xox
