Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Oreo Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas usually about three large bananas
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips plus more for sprinkling on top
  • 1 cup crushed Oreos plus more for sprinkling on top
  • 3/4 cup Reese's Peanut Butter chips
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350° F and grease a standard loaf pan with cooking spray or line with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Cream together the sugar and butter until smooth. Then, beat in the mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt), and then stir into the banana mixture until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips, Oreo pieces, and peanut butter chips, saving some chocolate chips and Oreo's for sprinkling on top.
  3. Pour the batter into the loaf pan, and bake for 30 minutes. Then, cover the loaf with a loose tent of aluminum foil, and continue to bake for another 30-40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean (the aluminum foil is to prevent your banana bread from browning too much on the top!) Once you remove it from the oven, drizzle the top with melted peanut butter and top with the remaining chocolate chips, Oreo pieces and melted peanut butter. Allow the bread to cool for up for an hour before removing from the pan.
